Submitting articles

The Central European Journal of Labour Law and Personnel Management is an open access scientific journal of the Labour Law Association, registered at Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic with registration number EV 5777/19, registered under ISSN 2644-4542 (online), ISSN 2644-4917 (print) and DOI 10.33382. The journal accepts original and authentic extended papers focusing on scientific articles of high quality in the field of labour law, social security law, human resources, HRM and related fields. The journal is published twice a year. Articles from domestic and authors abroad are accepted only in English language.

The deadline for manuscripts is 15th April and 15th November of the corresponding year.

General terms and conditions

The journal accepts original and authentic extended papers. Paper submitted to publisher is reviewed by two independent reviewers (system of double blind peer-review is used).  Author of the submission is responsible for the formal and professional accuracy of the work and by submitting the paper/article confirms the respect of publication ethics. The originality of the paper is tested by plagiarism software. The Editorial Board of the journal will decide about publishing of the submission, considering the professional peer review, quality of the article and the scientific importance of it. The author is informed about review results via mail. If the paper is not accepted for publication, the Editorial Board of the scientific journal is entitled to archive the manuscript. If the article is accepted for publication, the author(s) will fill in and sign the license agreement with the publisher of the scientific journal.

Authors are not required to pay an article processing charge.

The Central European Journal of Labour Law and Personnel Management use Crossref and iThenticate software for plagiarism screening and verifies the paper originality . Potential authors can use this software to screen their manuscripts before submission.
Requirements for manuscript formatting

  • By submitting the manuscript authors confirm originality of their work and agree with publishing the paper in printed and electronic form.
  • Paper in full length including the author(s) name(s) in the DOC or DOCX format (MS Word text editor), Times New Roman 12, single line spacing (1) is required.
  • The length of the article is determined in max. 15 pages, scientific reports max. 3 pages.
  • Figures, schemas, etc. are placed in Word with title, note and source only for orientation purpose (not editable). All Figures, etc. need to be enclosed in separate editable files. Figures in Word need to be identical to figures in separate editable files.
  • The title in English is short, provides clear information about the content of work.
  • The name(s) of the author(s) is listed who contributed to the submission. The academic degree of author(s) is not submitted. The workplace of author(s) is indicated in the next line.
  • The abstract states the nature of the investigation and summarized the important conclusions. The abstract should not be longer than 10 lines and must be coherent and understandable without reference to the article. All the references to the author should be made in third person singular.
  • Authors provide up to 5 key words with small letters.
  • JEL Classification – a standard method of classifying scholarly literature in the field of economics – http://www.aeaweb.org/jel/guide/jel.php.  (3 codes)
  • Introduction – should provide overview of related research papers and work, proper references to bibliography, as well as providing information about recent research in the field of study. The introduction part should not include subchapters.
  • Theoretical background – it should make a good impression and convince the reader why the theme is important and the approach relevant. It might refer to previous research or practical consideration, as well as review the relevant research/scientific literature.
  • Material and Methods – this part should include subchapters describing the methods and steps applied. Enough detail about methods should be provided to revise the steps described. It is necessary to cite methods from adequate literature applied in the research.
  • Findings and Discussion – the findings should be summarized in charts, enough facts should be provided to support conclusion. Do not present the same information in different forms (charts, graphs, text). Discussion part of the work should emphasize the new piece of information received through research compared to existing research results and findings in the studied field. This part of paper should present the main findings, testing of hypotheses and discussion of the research results.
  • Conclusion – a synthesis of key points and, if applicable, the author recommends new areas for future research.
  • Acknowledgement – all funding sources related to this work from all authors, a statement that indicates to the reader where the data supporting the conclusions can be obtained. The acknowledgments are also the appropriate place to thank colleagues and other contributors.
  • References – all sources cited in text, tables, figures, and supporting information must appear in the reference list.
  • Submitted papers should include links to relevant scientific literature in world scientific databases (Web of Science or Scopus, min. 5 sources).
  • The author should respect STN ISO 690-692 when citing. Footnotes are not accepted.
  • The bibliography should be arranged in alphabetical order, where surname of the author comes first without title, name of the author is written in capital letters.
  • Internet sources should be cited as the following: surname and name of the author, title of the source, date of citation and URL (e.g. http://llajournal.com).
  • Two or more works by the same author(s) published in the same year are indicated by adding “a”, “b”, “c” for the year of publication. In case of more than three authors appendix “and col./et al” is included.
  • The journal uses citation according to APA that uses for author’s identification name and year of publication (e.g. Law, 2015; Law & Man, 2016). You may find details at http://www.library.cornell.edu/resrch/citmanage/apa
  • Author(s) contact – include full name with academic title, affiliation (university, faculty, department), address (street, postcode, city), Country. Email: name@web.com; Authors´ ORCID (ORCID provides a central registry of researchers that crosses disciplines, work places, sectors, and national boundaries https://orcid.org/register) is recommended.
  • Language of the paper – the contributions are submitted in English language (British English). The pages of manuscript are not numbered, modifications to journal template are not allowed, manuscript of the author will be sent back. Manuscript corrections are sent back on the address of the publisher within 5 days. Changes influencing the content of original manuscript are not allowed.
